Dear Farmfestival friends,
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a key member of our team. Our great friend and all-round legend, Gavin Harry, suffered an unfortunate and fatal accident last month. He was 27 and our main musical director and promoter. Living in London, he worked full time for Salt PR and was a successful promoter and Dj as part of OntheROOF! His knowledge, drive and endless enthusiasm for good new music were truly infectious and he'll be sorely missed by all of us.
You may only have known him as the chap who sent out cheeky updates on which headline act we'd just signed. Or possibly have seen him attempt some early stand-up routines as compere on the main stage, or just emailed or bumped into him a few times.
The overriding sentiment is what a genuine, chatty, thoughtful and energetic personality he was. You didn't have to meet him more than once to be a friend.
It's been a massive shock and an emotional time for us. After a lot of thought, chats with family, bands he'd booked over the years, we have decided that this year's festival will go ahead, in his honour. We might even give him his own stage!
Raise a glass this summer - along with the Farmfestival team - in celebration of Gav.
So "To Friends"
Let's make this a very special party!
Love
The Farmfestival Team
x
P.s.
We are putting this little event in London on for him – 6th July @ Brixton Windmill, open invite
